WE ARE BACK IN THE CAPITAL CITY 2025 Public Policy Workshop
We are excited to announce that the 2025 APA Florida Public Policy Workshop will be back and in person in Tallahassee on Feb. 26-27. We have arranged for discounted hotel rooms for those making the journey to the Capital City.
On Feb. 26, there will be a mobile tour hosted by the Capital Area Section and an evening reception for all registrants of the Public Policy Workshop. The workshop will take place on Feb. 27 at the Four Points by Sheraton Tallahassee Downtown

Chapter business Propose Bylaw Amendments by Feb. 21
The Bylaws Committee is set to begin to identify potential bylaws updates and to distribute the duties for researching, proposing and/or fine-tuning potential amended language. The committee will present its proposed changes to the Executive Committee by May 1. Any amendments moving forward will be subject to vote by chapter members in the summer. The committee has open a call for amendments from members.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY Local Governments: FDEM Opens Proposals for Watershed Planning Program Funding
The Florida Division of Emergency Management announced that the proposal period for its Watershed Planning Program. Eligible planning activities have expanded this cycle to include Stormwater Master Plans. You will also find additional Program materials on the Watershed Planning Program SharePoint Site, including informational slides and a webinar recording.

Join us on Feb. 21 Chapter Chats: Your Opportunity to Connect with APA Florida Leaders
APA Florida President Allara Mills-Gutcher, AICP, will host a series of virtual Chapter Chats to give members the opportunity to ask questions, give input, or share ideas about how we can improve your member experience and have a deeper understanding of our operations. Each time a different Executive Committee member will join Allara and our Executive Director Stefanie Svisco to discuss chapter initiatives and goals and what we are doing to fulfill the chapter’s mission.
This is your chance to connect with chapter leaders.
The first chat will be on Feb. 21 at noon ET. Tony Palermo, AICP, Vice President of Membership & Outreach Services, will join Allara. On April 18, Secretary Jerry Bell, AICP, will discuss the forthcoming chapter bylaws update. Additional chats will be announced in coming weeks.
