2021 Planners Month in the Districts

Our Legislative Policy Committee has identified a series of key issues to focus on for the 2022 Florida Legislative session. As shown on the flier below, these include:

  • Access to Jobs and Education
  • A Resilient and Healthy Florida
  • State and Local Partnerships for Attainable Housing
  • Local Authority for Land Use Planning
Now we’re asking our members to help deliver the message to our elected state leaders!

To coincide with Community Planning Month, we will ask you to schedule virtual meetings with legislators or their staff in late September or October. This is a great opportunity to introduce /re-introduce APA Florida to our legislators. it is also a chance to let our statewide policymakers know what is most important to APA Florida before they go to Tallahassee for the upcoming legislative session. Don’t worry – we’ll provide talking points and other information to assist you with these meetings.

If you are interested in being a part of our second annual Planners Month in the Districts program, please fill out the online form.

We will collect the information and organize our advocacy efforts to maximize our coverage statewide, and minimize potential overlap.

If you’re not sure if this program is for you, contact APA Florida President-Elect Whit Blanton, FAICP at 407-620-5984 or via email.
