Planning Officials Training Workshop Is Going on the Road!

After the enormous success of the FPC22 Planning Officials Training, its organizers and presenters are taking the curriculum on the road! This is the ideal opportunity to have a more comfortable setting for local government officials, be closer to home, avoid travel to a conference hotel, which involves expenses such as lunch, parking, and meeting room rental. We polled the attendees who participated in the FPC22 course, and they overwhelmingly voiced the need to have more interaction between the attendees and presenters in a more relaxed atmosphere.
The Orlando Metro Section hosted the first of these trainings on Feb. 10, when 19 elected and appointed officials from Mount Dora, Eatonville, Seminole County, Port St. Lucie, and Umatilla attended the all-day workshop. Presenters were Merle Bishop, FAICP, Scott Glass, Esq., Bob Cambric, Nick Lepp, AICP, and Owen Beitsch, FAICP. They spoke on land use law, transportation, public participation, planning trends, and the basics of planning and zoning.
We would like to offer this training to elected and appointed planning officials in your area. We know that some sections already provide this training, but others are in need. We can tailor the training to your specific area to meet your needs.
