The Planner I position performs professional planning work related to land use, zoning, and development review. This position reviews residential and commercial development proposals, processes planning and zoning applications, and ensures compliance with the City’s Land Development Code, Comprehensive Plan, and applicable state statutes. The Planner I prepares staff reports, ordinances, and resolutions; and provides guidance to applicants, developers, consultants, and the public. The position works collaboratively with other City departments and may assist with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP), and Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) activities. Work requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
