Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Urban Planning or Regional Planning and two years of economic development and planning research experience; Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or Regional Planning and four years of economic development and planning research experience; Master's degree and four years of economic development and planning research experience; or Bachelor's degree in a planning related field and five years of economic development and planning research experience are required. Additional experience in economic development and planning research may substitute for the required college education on a year for year basis.

Recruitment Notes

The Principal Planner will conduct applied economic, socioeconomic, and geographic analyses; as well as population and employment forecasting, in support of the Planning Division and County agencies’ operations. Additionally, incumbents in this position will supervise staff assigned to the unit and coordinate with the Section Chief on the unit’s projects and workflow.
