Are you interested in making a difference in your community through thoughtful planning and meaningful research? The Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Planner I.


In this role, you’ll support a wide range of planning efforts by conducting research on topics such as population trends, land use, transportation, employment, and housing conditions. You’ll help answer questions from the public and assist various City and County departments by providing accurate and timely planning information.


Your responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing data for planning projects, reviewing development applications, and preparing clear, informative reports. You’ll also contribute to mapping and data visualization tasks, and occasionally prepare materials such as maps, public advertisements, and legal notices.


As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to serve on internal committees and task forces, attend public meetings—including City and County Commission sessions—and support the work of appointed planning boards.
