PLANNER I
Responsible for entry level professional work requiring the ability to handle multiple tasks including the management of development requests such as site plans, subdivisions, rezonings, variances, and special exceptions as well as conducting long range planning research and independent studies. Familiarity with Florida’s growth management practices and comprehensive planning.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s in Urban Planning, Government, Law, Engineering, Urban Design, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Geography, or related field required. Master's degree in a related field is preferred. One (1) year of professional work experience in urban planning or related field required. Salary: $58,059 to$89,991 annually
PLANNER II
This is advanced professional work in community planning, research, and design relating to current land development and rezoning proposals, environmental assessment, planning research, and/or planning initiatives
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Planning, Environmental Science or a related field and one (1) year of professional experience that includes Planning or Environmental Planning required; OR graduation from an accredited college or university with Bachelor's degree in one of the above fields and two (2) years of professional experience in above areas, or related field, required. AICP certification preferred. Salary: $64,010 to $99,216 annually
