The Florida Regional Councils Association (FRCA) is hiring an Association Director to replace its retiring Association Director. The part-time position is responsible for working with Florida’s 10 Regional Planning Councils (RPCs) to promote the mission of RPCs around the state and with federal, state, and local partners.
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university supplemented by eight (8) years of relevant experience.
Requirements: The following skills are preferred:
• Knowledge of and familiarity with Florida’s 10 RPCs.
• Familiarity with RPC programs including economic development, emergency preparedness planning, transportation, community planning, and resiliency.
• Ability to coordinate between RPCs and federal and state agencies on program development and implementation.
• Strong written, verbal and public communication skills including experience working with federal, state and local governments and non-profit organizations.
• Able to promote the mission of the RPCs by representing FRCA at meetings, workshops and conferences.
• Able to analyze federal and state policy and legislation for RPC programmatic impact.
• Serve as primary staff to RPC Director’s Committee which includes development of meeting materials and securing meeting logistics.
Benefits:
The position is 25-hours per week as an independent contractor at $50 per hour ($65,000 annually). Other employment arrangements may be available.
