FAICP Nomination Guidelines

Based on recommendations from the 2022 FAICP Selection Committee, the FAICP Pipeline and Nomination Guidelines Task Force and the College of Fellows Committee, changes to the 2024 Nomination process and guidelines have been made. The changes are aimed at increased transparency and to support APA’s Prioritize Equity strategic initiative.

NUMBER OF YEARS OF AICP MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

The biggest change is lowering the administrative prerequisite of eligibility requirements from fifteen (15) years of AICP membership to ten (10) years while still requiring a rigorous set of qualitative criteria for consideration as a Fellow. Emphasis will be placed on helping eligible members understand that not everyone who is an AICP member has accomplished enough to be eligible for Fellowship after 10 years. Nominees and nominators should review the primary criteria to evaluate if a nominee qualifies.

IMPROVED SUBMISSION PROCESS

To make the nomination process easier and more streamlined, an online form for submission has been added to the APA website.
