Position Statement
I previously served four years on the Promised Lands Executive Committee and four years on the Orlando Metro Section Executive Committee in a variety of capacities on both ECs. I enjoyed working at the local level with colleagues and enjoyed meeting those who serve at the state level, who have inspired me to run for a state-level position. Having served as a committee member and chair of the local host committee for two APA FL conferences hosted by the Promised Lands and Orlando Metro Sections, I believe I have the experience and knowledge to move to the next level of service, as VP of Conference Services.
The Florida Planning Conference is the most anticipated event of the year for Florida planners as they reconnect with colleagues, learn new planning trends and collaborate with attendees. I look forward to working with colleagues and teams from around the state as we plan conferences for the next several years. The new post pandemic world will offer challenges and opportunities for those of us in the planning profession. I hope to bring a new perspective to conference content and planning - one centered on embracing diversity, serving all planners’ needs both personally and professionally, and celebrating accomplishments in the 21st century.
