APA Gold Coast Awards 2021 Student Project Award Call for Entries

2021 STUDENT PROJECT AWARD CALL FOR ENTRIES


The Gold Coast Section of APA Florida is pleased to announce the opening of its 2021 Project Awards Program application cycle to students (application cycle for professionals will open soon). This year the APA Florida Gold Coast Section is reintroducing our “Student Project Award” in order to recognize outstanding student research and planning projects.


The intent of the Student Project Award is to provide our Gold Coast Section members the chance to see and learn about development, conservation, environmental projects, etc. through the eyes of our future planning leaders. The Awards Committee will be looking for innovativeness and quality, and the potential for use in other areas. STUDENT PROJECT AWARD: Recognizes a research or planning project by an individual or team of students in a planning or related (landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, etc.) academic program.


APPLICATION FORMAT: All award applications must be completed via Google Forms (Link HERE) and support materials submitted electronically in .pdf format via WeTransfer (max 20MB). Applications submitted via any other method will not be reviewed.


ELIGIBILITY: Any plan, project, program, study or report must be: (1) located within Miami-Dade or Monroe Counties and (2) have been published, implemented or completed within two (2) years of the date of submission.


SUBMITTAL: Application support materials must be submitted electronically via WeTransfer to awards@goldcoastplanning.org (maximum 20MB) and received no later than Friday, August 13, 2021 at 5:00pm.


FEE: There is NO FEE for the Student Project Award.


JUDGING: Judging for the awards will take place prior to the Gold Coast Section’s Awards Event. Gold Coast Section strives to assemble juries that represent the breadth of the profession, including private, public, institutional, and academic practice, and exemplify diversity in professional experience, geography, gender, and ethnicity. Jurors may include members of the Section’s Executive Board. Jurors are under no obligation to grant an award in any or every category.


PRESENTATION: Awards will be presented at the Gold Coast Section’s Awards Event “tentatively” scheduled for Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Miami Center for Architecture and Design in Downtown Miami. Award winners will be notified confidentially prior to presentation of the awards.
