Feb 6 & 7: Public Policy Workshop & Mobile Tour

public policy worksho

The Capital Area Section is working closely the chapter office to co-host the 2019 Public Policy Workshop in Tallahassee on Feb. 7. This one-day workshop is the place to learn what pertinent policy changes may impact the planning community- from the national, state and legal areas.

The chapter and the Capital Area Section are also hosting a mobile workshop that should be of interest to our local members! This tour will be held on the afternoon of Feb. 6, and more information will be available as we finalize the details over the next week. So stay tuned! (You don’t have to attend to the Public Policy Workshop to go on the tour.)

Gil Penalosa Visits Tallahassee, FSU

Gil Penalosa

Throughout the past year Leon County Government has hosted a lecture series and Capital Area Section has partnered to offer CM credits at the lectures that relate to planning. The most recent of these was a talk by Gil Penalosa from 8-80 Cities. Gil spent about a week in Tallahassee presenting on the 8-80s concepts and meeting with groups throughout the community.  If you missed Gil while he was in town, check out the PBS Perspectives segment that was recorded that week.  Click here for full coverage.
