SENIOR PLANNER
City of Port St. Lucie
Responsible professional work requiring the ability to handle multiple tasks including the management of development requests such as: site plans, subdivisions, rezonings, variances and special exceptions as well as conducting long range planning research and independent studies.  Familiarity with Florida’s growth management practices and comprehensive planning.  Job focus may vary to fit needs of various divisions, either current development review or long-range planning.  This position will require exceptional customer service skills, strong written and verbal communications skills, computer skills and analytical ability.
Bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) in Urban Planning, Government, Law, Engineering, Urban Design, or related field from an accredited college or university.  Master's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.  Eight (8) years of professional work experience in urban planning or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
