This position is in the Comprehensive Planning Division. The Sr. Planner will work with a variety of community groups and must have experience in community planning and developing policies that articulate community vision. The Sr. Planner will perform professional and technical work developing, researching, and maintaining public planning studies and programs. Work involves technical and creative responsibility conducting research and preparing detailed studies on land use, zoning, conservation, housing, transportation, population, coastal management, historic preservation, urban design, community redevelopment, and other areas of comprehensive planning activities. Degree of complexity in work assignments depends on education and work experience. A Sr. Planner ensures program compliance with criteria governing local, state, and federal legislature relating to growth management.
