The CFRPC seeks a full-time Planner to work with local governments to perform a variety of planning and zoning functions including land development review, special projects (community visioning, economic development, etc.), and GIS mapping and analyses, within a dynamic and flexible work environment. Work includes a variety of planning, analytical and research functions in comprehensive planning and zoning. Attendance and presentations at night hearings and meetings is required. Attendance at Saturday morning community workshops is required from time to time.
Qualifications: A minimum of two years of experience in planning. Preferred experience includes preparing and reviewing Future Land Use Map amendments, rezonings, variance requests, and site development plans. Proficiency in GIS mapping and analyses using ESRI software preferred. Bachelor's degree in urban planning, geography, public administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in urban planning, geography, public administration, or a related field may be applied in lieu of the minimum experience. Applicants must be motivated and willing to work directly with the staff of local cities, have good verbal and written communication skills, have thorough research skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Must have valid driver's license or be able to secure a valid Florida driver's license at time of employment.
