Position Statement

It is an honor to be a candidate for Vice President (VP) for Conference Services of APA Florida. After having served as Treasurer of APA Florida’s Treasure Coast Section for more than five years, and currently serving as Treasurer of the State Chapter, I have had the opportunity to oversee and ensure the financial stability of the organization at multiple levels while maximizing the value of programs and services offered to our members.

Through this experience I was able to recognize the significant importance of the Chapter’s annual conference. Each year the conference provides a substantial amount of support to the Chapter’s financial stability as well as invaluable educational opportunities, allowing the organization to better serve its membership and the communities that we live and work in.

In 2017-2018 I had the honor of being Co-Chair of APA Florida’s State Conference Host Committee in West Palm Beach, helping to assemble, organize, and implement one of the Chapter’s most successful conferences in recent history. Being able to put on such an effective event requires leadership, organization, dedication, and the ability to work with people across all facets of the process; all of which are qualities that I was able to bring to hosting the conference in West Palm Beach, and can bring year after year.

As VP for Conference Services, I will be committed to working with the Chapter’s membership, its Executive Committee, the Executive Director, and each host committee to bring forth a conference each year that furthers the mission and vision of APA Florida, giving us the opportunity to improve and enhance the framework that shapes our cities and regions, and the lives of those that live within them.
