Position Statement

During my first term as the VP for Certification Maintenance, I was able to provide a free webinar on coastal resiliency through coordination with the Department of Environmental Protection. I also worked with the Florida Chapter of ASLA to provide CM credits at their state conference in 2019. One of my outstanding tasks is to coordinate a statewide webinar on hurricane response and recovery. I would like another term to ensure I am able to provide this plus other relevant webinar sessions to APA Florida members.

I maintain my belief that one of the most critical responsibilities of the VP for Certificate Maintenance is ensuring that APA Florida members can earn their required 32 CM credits as cost-effectively as possible. We are very fortunate to belong to one of the most active state chapters in the U.S., one that hosts an unparalleled annual state conference. My plan for the upcoming conferences is to provide even more sessions as on-demand learning opportunities for those who are not able to attend the conference, especially the sessions on the required CM topics on law and ethics.

Serving on the Executive Committee for APA Florida is the best way I know to give back to the profession and my fellow planners.
