Join Us for the Heart of Florida Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony Luncheon

We'll have a nice lunch to catch up with colleagues and network followed by a presentation from the Peace and Justice Institute. (1.5 Ethics CM)

Event Schedule:

  • 11:30 am – Noon: Annual Meeting and Luncheon
  • Noon – 1:30 pm: Keynote Speakers + Workshop

Keynote Presentation: The Peace and Justice Institute Workshop: Join us for a workshop facilitated by the Peace and Justice Institute, designed to create a safe space for conversations centered on inclusive excellence. Participants will explore reflective practices, gain tools for self-knowledge, and learn practical methods to provide and receive feedback using emotional intelligence principles, fostering a compassionate and respectful workplace.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Shannon Walsh – An experienced leader with Fortune 500 companies, universities, and the U.S. Armed Forces. Ms. Walsh holds an EMBA from Rollins College, an MPA from the University of Oklahoma, and a BA in Spanish Literature, Language, and Culture from Syracuse University.
  • Hank Van Putten – An anti-racism educator with 35 years in public schools and training from scholars including Dr. Peggy McIntosh and Lee Mun Wah. Mr. Van Putten has focused on race’s impact on the academic success of African American students and holds degrees from Northeastern University and Cambridge College.

The APA Florida Heart of Florida Section is thrilled to announce the window for nominations for the section’s awards program is now open.

We’re excited to recognize the outstanding work our planners have achieved over the past year. Please read through the award categories carefully and choose the one that best fits your project nomination and fully complete and submit your application(s) by the due date indicated.
