This is advanced professional planning and supervisory work in the management of the city-wide master planning activities of a division of the Planning Department. Work involves a variety of analytical and supervisory tasks related to the formulation and/or revision of the City’s Zoning Code and Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan. Employee works with independent judgment in the application of professional planning techniques and principles to routine as well as unusual planning problems. The work requires the exercise of judgment in determining courses of action for the development and presentation of material. This position is distinguished from that of Planner I and Planner II by the considerable professional responsibility and wide latitude of responsibility in developing objectives and goals as related to the planning program. Administrative direction and guidance are received from a Division Chief or higher-level administrator.
