Call to Eligible AICP Members and Mentors - College of Fellows Nomination Process
Applicants for AICP College of Fellows
Are you ready to be recognized for making exceptional and sustained contributions to the field? The nomination guidelines for the 2026 Class of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP) are now available.
Fellows of AICP are honored in recognition of the achievements of the planner as an individual, elevating the Fellow before the public and the profession as a model planner who has made significant contributions to planning and society. Fellowship is granted to planners who have been members of AICP and have achieved excellence in professional practice, teaching and mentoring, research, public and community service, and leadership.
Being AICP certified for at least 10 years, you meet the administrative prerequisite to submit a nomination.
Preparing a nomination is a huge commitment of time and energy. If you are interested in becoming a Fellow:
- The first step is to review the primary criteria in the guidelines to determine if you qualify.
- Make sure to discuss if your career is at the point where the impacts of your individual work can be seen and effectively conveyed with (insert individual who can help’s name and -contact information).
- If you and others feel your career qualifies for fellowship, use the nomination guidelines as your primary resource and check out the Fellows Nomination toolkit for supplemental assistance.
The Florida Chapter is accepting submissions for nominations. Click the button below to fill out the nomination interest form. Information needed:
- 100 words or less why the chapter should nominate you.
- A one-page document with bullet points recapping your major career accomplishments and contributions to the planning field. (Do not upload a resume.)
Please complete the form by 5 pm ET on Dec. 4.
If you are selected as a nominee, you will be paired with a mentor who will guide you through the process.

Call for FAICP Application Mentors
APA Florida is also seeking interest from AICP Fellows or others who would like to serve as mentors to a member seeking induction to the College of Fellows. If you would like to give your time to helping a fellow planner achieve this capstone recognition, please fill out the form at the link below. Preference will be given to FAICP members; however, any APA Florida Chapter member may serve as a mentor to a candidate.
