Position Statement

What an honor it is to be a candidate for Treasurer!  Having previously served as Treasurer in 2019-2020 (temporarily filling a vacancy) and being the Treasurer for the Treasure Coast Section for more than five years, I’ve had the opportunity to oversee and ensure the financial stability of the organization for many years and at multiple levels.  And with the onset of the pandemic in 2020, the Chapter faced a long road of uncertainty as organizations began to experience financial struggles.

It was during this challenging time that I was able to lead and work with the Chapter’s Executive Committee and Executive Director to maintain the organization’s financial strength and resolve allowing it to carry out its mission, fulfill its goals and provide a high level of service to its membership, all while being fiscally responsible during the most uncertain times.

As Treasurer, I will use my strong sense of organization, attention to detail, and trustworthiness to once again be committed in carrying out the strategies that will advance APA Florida in a way that is still financially stable and viable for the long term.  I will lead a committee that will look at the Chapter’s financial policies, procedures and investment and reserve strategies, and make recommendations to the Executive Committee where changes are needed.  I will ensure a budget that is functional, yet secure as it is imperative that the Chapter have a strong financial foundation and operate efficiently and effectively.  This allows APA Florida to implement its strategic plan and give us the opportunity to improve and enhance the framework that shapes our cities and regions, and the lives of those within them.  I have successfully proven my ability to do this previously, and I look forward to doing it again as APA Florida’s future Treasurer!
